Cleaning - and other 'new normal' things

We opened our hostel in 2006 and pride ourselves in providing a secure, safe, clean environment for our guests. In reviews we generally receive high scores for Good Housekeeping and Cleanliness. Gone are the days when hostel guests did a daily 'chore' to help with cleaning and maintenance, but everything they do to help keep the hostel tidy and clean during their stay is appreciated


In this 'new normal' we are very conscious of guest expectations for higher standards throughout tourist accommodation, so in addition to what we usually do we are making the following changes:



 

  • No walk-in guests will be accepted - all guests must book online
  • From time to time a Virtual Reception may operate - full details on hostel access, door codes will be issued before stay, and staff will still be available if required
  • Reception will be open from 08:00 to 10:00 and 17:00 to 22:00 each day and check in will only be available from 17:00 to 22:00. Early Departure is possible
  • The hostel will  close between 10:00 and 17:00 to allow staff time to clean and take time off
  • Access to the dining and lounge areas may be restricted, if required in meeting Government health guidelines
  • Access to self-catering kitchen facilities may be restricted, if required in meeting Government health guidelines. 
  • Kitchen access will be available to groups who have booked the whole hostel and have sole use of the facilities
  • A refreshment station with hot and cold water, tea and coffee making facilities will be available
  • Breakfast-to-Go can be pre-arranged by guests
  • We have plenty of great recommendations for eating out for dinner and breakfast during your stay, including places you can explore
  • Your bedrooms shall be private to your family or guest. Each booking shall be assigned a private room
  • Bathroom facilities alough shared by guests from one other room shall be yours privately when in use. We ask you to keep these areas tidy and clean. Staff will regularly clean and disinfect following new protocols
  • Until otherwise appropriate, Staff will wear face coverings when in common areas or with guests
  • Until otherwise appropriate, Guests should wear face coverings when traversing common areas, at the refreshment table or at Reception
  • Hand sanitizer shall be available free for everyone
  • Don't travel if you are unwell
